Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a relationship between people in the community, their food, and the people growing their food.
A CSA membership is an opportunity for you to be directly involved in supporting your local farm so you know exactly where your food is coming from.
Your membership is a commitment at the beginning of the growing season that allows the CSA farmer to plan ahead and manage this unique relationship so you can share in the harvest.
Market gardening and small scale farming in the CSA model comes with unique benefits and risks. It is a seasonal and unpredictable undertaking. Distribution of produce is also unique in the CSA model. While the corporate grocery store has convenience for customers to access produce grown in other countries, or even continents, the CSA membership offers you access to produce grown right here in Lanark, by your neighbour.
Wild Thyme Homestead believes that community connection is important. We welcome our members to share in the bounty of our land from which we also feed our family. Our produce is grown for our own children – so we are conscious of its quality and our growing practices. We are happy to offer our community the opportunity to share in a successful growing season so that we can provide for our family beyond the dinner table while increasing quality, choice and food security to our community.
Our growing process is biologically diverse, uses organic fertilizers, and is free of synthetic chemicals.
Wild Thyme Homestead is committed to regenerative agriculture and increasing biodiversity. We plant native plants to take care of our pollinators, engage in conservation-based managed forestry, and commit to maintaining good soil health in our food plots. When you choose a CSA membership with us, you are choosing to support this type of land stewardship.
Wild Thyme Homestead is committed to offering diverse product options. We pride ourselves on providing our members with the highest quality goods we can. Each week you will get a variety of items that are in-season and freshly harvested before pickup! We will also send out a weekly email letting you know what is planned for your box that week, along with some recipes we use to feed our family.
